Upholstery vs. reupholstery.

Upholstery is the covering, padding and related work that finishes furniture. Reupholstery renews that work on furniture you already own. Commercial upholstery can describe both services; here, we separate new projects from renewal so you can choose the right scope.

New upholstery

Start with a new design or an unfinished frame. Specify the dimensions, cushioning, material and finish before fabrication.

Reupholstery

Start with existing furniture. Assess the covers, foam and structure, then agree what will be retained, repaired or renewed.

New seating or an existing banquette?

For new seating, start with drawings, dimensions and the selected back style. For existing booths, send photos of the seat, back and base so the team can assess the covers, foam and structure.

A consistent finish across the dining room.

Specify channel, smooth or tufted backs, seat construction and material placement. Approve physical samples and confirm cleaning instructions before committing to a finish.

Plan the work around service.

Share booth quantities, wall lengths and access details. For renewal, identify how many seats can be released at a time and agree collection, site work and return arrangements.

What should I send for an estimate?

Send photos or drawings, dimensions, quantities, your location, material preferences and target date. Identify new fabrication or renewal of existing upholstery.

Can I provide my own material?

Ask for a material review before ordering. Confirm suitability, required yardage, usable width, pattern repeats and delivery arrangements.

What affects the cost and schedule?

Construction, dimensions, quantity, material availability and the extent of repairs affect the scope. Confirm delivery, installation and the project schedule in the written estimate.
